At 2139 March 28, 2018, North Douglas County Fire & EMS was dispatched to a structure fire in the 3000 block of Scotts Valley Rd. Yoncalla that was reported as almost burnt to the ground. Fire crews arrived to two unoccupied houses that were nearly burnt to the ground about 200ft apart from each other.
Fire officials made the decision not to engage in fire suppression and allow the structures to burn in their contained origin. A single unit will remain on scene through the night to ensure no fire spread. The cause of the fires is unknown at this time and are currently under investigation.
North Douglas County Fire & EMS responded with 2 structural engines, 2 water tenders, and 10 firefighters. NDCFEMS was assisted by Douglas Electric and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
