Apartment Fire 425 S. Cedar St. Drain

At 7:56 am, Monday, April 11, 2022, North Douglas County Fire & EMS was dispatched to a report of an Apartment fire at the Cedar Street apartments at 425 South Cedar Street in Drain. Crews arrived to discover heavy fire coming from the South side of the building and estimated to be 30% involved. 2331 was the first-due engine and the starting initial fire combat. 2332 arrived shortly after supply the scene with a line from the fire to the hydrant. Command requested resources from Oakland Rural Fire, South Lane Fire & Rescue, and Elkton Rural Fire. The fire was knocked down within 30 minutes and crews began mop-up.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries reported.

North Douglas County Fire & EMS was assisted by the Douglas County Sherriff's Office, City of Drain Public Works, Oakland Rural Fire, South Lane Fire & Rescue, and Elkton Rural Fire. 6 engines and over 20 firefighters assisted the incident.
