Fire Watch - North Douglas County Fire & EMS

North Douglas County Fire & EMS will use this news release as a general information location pertaining to the wildland fires that are burning in Douglas County near our fire district. The information on this page only pertains to the North Douglas County Fire & EMS District. Current Fires:


Putnam Valley


DFPA will continue to check for hot spots until adequate rainfall has arrived.

DFPA has been working all night and will continue today to mop up hot spots.


09/12/2020

4:10PM Crews have a wet line around the entire fire and the fire spread is stopped. Dozer line has been constructed around approximately 1/3 of the fire. The fire is estimated to be 10 acres in size. Crews from DFPA, North Douglas County Fire & EMS and an industrial operator are working on the fire.


2:07PM The Putnam Valley Fire is estimated to be 10 acres in size. The fire is being held at the top of the fire by a road. Overall, fire activity is low. Crews and and a dozer are engaged on the fire. North Douglas County Fire & EMS understands many community members are concerned right now, however no structures are threatened at this time. We ask that you only receive your official information through DFPA, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, and North Douglas County Fire & EMS. The fire is currently burning on DFPA protected lands. North Douglas County Fire & EMS is working with DFPA in fire suppression efforts. There are currently NO new evacuations. We will continue to update you through our Facebook page and website.

 

CURRENT EVACUATIONS IN THE NORTH DOUGLAS COUNTY FIRE & EMS DISTRICT

The following evacuation are being set by the Douglas County Sheriff's Office


Level 1 "Be Ready":

Due to extreme fire behavior near Glide, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office placed ALL Douglas county residents on a Level 1 “Be Ready” status.


Level 1: Means “BE READY“ for potential evacuation. Residents should be aware of the danger that exists in their area, monitor emergency services websites and local media outlets for information.
