At 9:32 AM, January 6, 2024, North Douglas County Fire & EMS was dispatched to multiple reports of a fire at Eagle Valley RV Park, located at 221 Eagle Valley Rd. in Yoncalla. Fire crews arrived to a fully involved RV fire with multiple exposures, downed power lines, and trees on fire. Initial and secondary engines engaged in an offensive fire attack, knocking down the fire within five minutes of arrival. Crews remained on scene for an additional hour, mopping up the fire and attending to the downed power line safety.
Ambulance crews transported the single occupant of the RV to Mercy Medical Center with serious injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Oakland Rural Fire, and Douglas Electric assisted North Douglas County Fire & EMS.
