2016 Hydrant Testing

North Douglas County Fire & EMS will be flow testing water hydrants in the cities of Drain and Yoncalla beginning Thursday, September 29, 2016 and will be completed as soon as possible. Testing will take place Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm to assure hydrants operate properly and have the required water flow amount in the event of an emergency. This testing may produce rusty water. If discoloration appears, residents can be assured the water is safe to drink but should run faucets for 30 seconds or longer until the water color returns to normal. If water coloring occurs during this period use caution when doing white laundry. It is recommended that you should allow your machine to complete an empty wash load or wait a twenty-four (24) hour period after the testing has been completed in the vicinity of your neighborhood.
